I trained as an artist in the UK, studying painting in Scotland and London at the RCA. I was invited to get involved in animation first as a life drawing instructor to classes that I ran for a number of London animation studios and then as an artist working on productions.

After working for several major studios on film productions as well as occasional advertising work I was invited to come out to California ultimately to join Dreamworks as it set up for it's first animated production "Prince of Egypt."

After several years, and several film productions later, I became a freelance artist, working on several projects over the past decade or more, dividing my time between production work and teaching.

I am still active as an artist painting my own work and exhibiting, as well as developing other personal projects that are more story based.
